Weekly Art Classes

The weekly classes cover a wide range of media and there is an opportunity to explore everything from still life to landscapes to portraits. Classes aim to be enjoyable, friendly and supportive with regular demonstrations and one to one guidance. We also undertake occasional gallery visits and sketch trips and students have the opportunity to display work in informal class exhibitions from time to time.

Watercolour and Acrylic Painting for All

12 weeks starting the week of 20th September 2021 at various venues

On this 12 week course we will go back to basics with watercolour and acrylics covering an exciting and diverse range of subjects such as atmospheric skies in watercolour, colourful puffins, willow pattern vases and a view of Whitby to name just a few.

Whether you are a beginner, a little ‘rusty’ or have attended previous classes, this course will suit a wide range of experiences. We will cover the fundamentals of painting, going back to basics with both watercolours and acrylics but have scope for taking projects in different creative directions depending on your preferences and experience.

Choose from the venues and times below. We meet for 12 weeks and complete 8 projects. Weekly sessions include regular one to one guidance, step by step demonstrations, written instructions, photo references and the opportunity to see and discuss work with fellow students in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.
