The weekly classes cover a wide range of media and there is an opportunity to explore everything from still life to landscapes to portraits. Classes aim to be enjoyable, friendly and supportive with regular demonstrations and one to one guidance. We also undertake occasional gallery visits and sketch trips and students have the opportunity to display work in informal class exhibitions from time to time.
Courses run in termly blocks of 10 to 12 weeks starting September, January and April. The venues and times are listed below. Classes cost £140 for 10 weeks /£168 for 12 weeks etc , and are payable in full at the start of the course.

Painting and Drawing For the Terrified
If you are new to art and feeling nervous about joining a class then this is the course for you. You don’t have to be terrified!, but just wanting to learn the basics in a fun and friendly class. We cover drawing techniques using pencil, charcoal and ink as well as various watercolour techniques with a range of subjects from still life, landscape, flora and fauna. Lots of encouragement, step by step guidance and demonstrations throughout to give you a grounding in the basics.

Painting and Drawing For Beginners & Improvers
Have you recently started out in art or are maybe feeling a little rusty? Maybe you have dabbled at home but have never had any formal instruction. This course aims to be a fun and friendly class for those who want to learn to paint and draw for pleasure. Lots of tuition in techniques along with inspiring subject matter and one to one guidance.

Painting and Drawing For Improvers and Experienced
On these courses you will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of materials including watercolour, acrylics, soft pastels, oil pastels and collage along with drawing media such as charcoal and ink. Projects are also very diverse and encourage some independent work as well as more structured projects and demonstrations. Some experience needed although not necessarily in all these mediums, and a willingness to explore and experiment with a range of materials and ideas.
